Service Description
Some of you might remember Dorothy from our Wellbeing event in September, well she is back for Spring! YAY! We are crafting together a beautiful afternoon of mindfulness, foraging, folklore and herbal infusions all at the Nurture Yurt and surrounding area. This will be a beautifully nurturing session, strengthening our connection to nature and how we can live more harmoniously. Kids are welcome to attend these sessions for free. A wee bit about the lovely lady... Dorothy studied Botany at the University of Aberdeen, completing her Honours thesis whilst leading a botanical expedition to the Ivory Coast. She completed a further Masters degree in Applied Plant Science at Wye College in Kent and refreshed and updated her botanical skills last year obtaining a Certificate in Herbology with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE) during lockdown. Dorothy believes passionately that anyone can learn the skills to forage safely. She enjoys sharing her extensive herbal wisdom and teaching people how to forage responsibly for common wild herbs. Many of the most useful plants are not rare and exotic ones, but the ones that are often overlooked, growing on your own doorstep. Dorothy will help you mindfully connect with the natural world on a foraging foray and open your eyes to the fascinating ways you can benefit from your own local herbal treasure trove.
